Llanymynech to Montgomery
Len will be departing from The Cross Keys, Llanymynech at 07.30 on June 26th.
This section of the walk is fairly flat. From Llanymynech, the path heads to and crosses the River Vyrynwy.
Len will then follow the trail through Four Crosses and along the various canals in the area such as the School Brook and Neath Brook before they join the River Severn.
The path follows suit and also follows the river, winding along its banks for several miles before arriving at Buttington, just north-east of Welshpool.
From here, the Len will diverge from the river and begin to climb up over a hill topped by Beacon Ring Fort.
The path then descends through more farmland and Kingswood before following the B4388 into Montgomery.
Len will rest here before continuing on Day 5.
The walk will end at the Montgomery Town War Memorial. We estimate that the walk will take about 6 hours, 35 minutes but this estimation is subject to change.
