Dr Karl Davies
Karl Davis is a consultant Physician in Elderly Care Medicine based in UHW and St David’s Hospital. As a Foundation Programme Director, he leads in the training of newly qualified doctors in C&V. Dr Davis is aso the Secretary for the Welsh Branch of the British Geriatric Society. Outside of work he enjoys playing, coaching and umpiring hockey and support my club with the coaching and development of youth players.
Dr Davis is a keen cyclist, although you will see him on his bicycle mainly riding to and from work or hockey! He believes taking on the CarTen100 will provide him with an opportunity to join together with C&V colleagues as part of Lens Challenge to raise funds for Improving chances and Children’s Cancer Care (Sierra Leone). Personally he hopes it will challenge him mentally and physically to focus on improving his fitness; to improve his work life balance and therefore his personal well-being.
Further more he is looking forward to experiencing a more scenic view of the South Wales landscape whilst cycling.
