Revealing this year’s charities

The most important element of any Len’s Challenge is the fantastic charities that the challenge raises money for. That’s why I’m excited to announce the pair of very worthy causes that we I’ll be raising funds for this year alongside my fellow participants.

The first charity is the Improving Chances charity that I established in 2010 to support mothers and children in Fort Portal and surrounding districts in rural Western Uganda. Having been Chair since the charity launched in 2010 and seen the huge difference that the funds we raise makes, it’s a cause that is especially close to my heart.

We’ll also be raising money for Children’s Cancer Care Sierra Leone, via the Cardiff & Vale Health Charity. This initiative is part of Cardiff and Vale University Health Board’s commitment to the Wales for Africa programme. It supports children with cancer and their families by providing lifesaving treatment, equipment and medical expertise to some of the most disadvantaged groups in our society.

You can find out more about both charities here – I’m sure that you’ll agree that our efforts are all for a pair of very worthy causes.

I’d would really appreciate your generosity and support. Even the smallest donations will soon add up, so I would urge you to please give what you can to support the really worthwhile charities and the important work that they do.
